Founded in 1997, the NC Triangle affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is dedicated to combating breast cancer at every front.

Three-quarters of the funds raised through community fundraising events like the Race for the Cure, Rally for the Cure, 3rd party partner events, individual donations, and corporate philanthropy are invested locally to meet the health challenges faced by women in our 20 county service area.

At the same time, a quarter out of every dollar raised goes back to the national offices of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, to be used in support to the scientific research, advocacy, and global educational programs that move us closer to our goal of a world without breast cancer.

In 2011 - 2012, we awarded $1 million to fund 18 community health programs to meet the needs of women in our state – click here to find a list of the grantee organizations and a brief description of the services they provide.

The NC Triangle Affiliate service area covers 20 counties including: Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Nash, Northampton, Orange, Person, Pitt, Scotland, Vance, Warren, and Wake.
