Advocacy Day is March 23

March 21, 2011

We invite you to join with us in fighting to save the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP).  This program is instrumental in providing breast and cervical cancer screenings as well as post screening treatment to uninsured and underinsured women in North Carolina.  Those women could be your neighbors, friends or co-workers.

Women who rely on this program are likely to skip screening if it is cut until there is something noticeably wrong - and then it could be too late.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers dressed in PINK to come to Raleigh to help us in this fight – will you help us?

When:  Wednesday, March 23, 2011
Time:  8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Location: NC General Assembly Building, Downtown Raleigh, NC

We plan to:

  • Attend the committee meeting where the bill will be heard at 8:30 a.m.
  • Attend a press conference on this legislation
  • Meet with our representatives and/or senators to ask them to not cut funding for this program and to vote yes
  • Encourage them to vote YES on house bill 160, which would place a check-off box on NC state tax returns to allow individuals to donate a portion of their tax returns to this program.

Come for as long as you can.  We need your voice and spirit. Please R.S.V.P. to info@komennctriangle.org
