Mark your calendar for the 2nd Annual Ride for the Cure on April 20, 2008. The Ride for the Cure started last year in celebration of Peggy Canevari’s five year survivorship of breast cancer. Her husband and son, being avid bikers, knew that a bike rally would be a great way to raise money and awareness for the cause and give hope to so many people affected by this disease.
One hundred percent of the net proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen NC Triangle Affiliate. A $20 registration fee includes a Ride for the Cure t-shirt and a special bandana. Scooters is offering a 10% discount off their lunch menu for all registered riders. For your enjoyment, the band “Switch” will play all afternoon. A 50/50 raffle and the sale of specially designed event hats provide additional opportunities to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure at the event.
