Host a Fundraising Event

Thank you for your interest in supporting the NC Triangle Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. We are grateful for the opportunities to work with community organizations and individuals who wish to hold a fundraiser to help us fulfill our promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever. Four ways to support the Komen NC Triangle Affiliate:

OPTION 1: RAISING MONEY FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

The simplest way to raise money is to advertise your event using terms such as “raising money for breast cancer awareness” or “to aid in the fight against breast cancer”. The color pink and pink ribbons and bows (not the Komen running ribbon) are international symbols for breast cancer awareness. Since they are not registered trademarks you do not require permission for their use. You are free to donate the proceeds of your event to any breast cancer organization. If asked, you may verbally say that you are supporting the NC Triangle Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® but you cannot use the name in writing. 

OPTION 2: COMMUNITY PARTNER FUNDRAISING EVENT

Many people and organizations want to make a difference by raising money to benefit the NC Triangle Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. One such way is to organize a third party fundraiser. You can participate in an activity that you enjoy while supporting a good cause — the fight against breast cancer.

The Komen NC Triangle Affiliate is accountable to the public for fundraising activities using the Komen name. To this end, we require a "Third Party Agreement" be completed, which outlines the details of the event. To obtain a "Third Party Agreement", we ask that you first read through the Fundraising Guidelines. If after you've read the guidelines, you are interested in entering into an agreement with the Komen NC Triangle Affiliate, please submit an Online Application at least three weeks prior to the start of your event.

OPTION 3: PASSIONATELY PINK FOR THE CURE®

Wear Pink. Raise Funds. End Breast Cancer Forever! The premise of Passionately Pink for the Cure is simple: Go pink to fight breast cancer! Your group selects a day (or several days) to wear pink, and participants join the fun by making a monetary donation. When you register, you’ll receive your team ID number and a free kit with everything you need — including event day ideas, a promotional poster, a Passionately Pink guidebook, collectors’ pins that feature the Passionately Pink logo, basic breast health information, a donation reply form, a matching gift checklist and a reply envelope to make it easy to return donations to Komen. We encourage you to be creative and make Passionately Pink for the Cure an exciting and educational day for all! OPTION 4: RALLY FOR THE CURE®

Rally for the Cure® is a grassroots program that works to spread awareness about breast health and breast cancer in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Rally for the Cure has expanded their well-established golf program to other sports including tennis, dinner events such as wine-tasting, and group/club activities such as a bridge or book clubs. Volunteer “Ambassadors” host and plan the events locally. A registration fee of $20 per person (non-tax-deductible) includes participant favors, event decorations, a contest/prize, and important breast health information. The NC Triangle Affiliate is authorized by Susan G. Komen for the Cure® (Komen National) to serve 20 specific counties:Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Nash, Northampton, Orange, Pitt, Person, Scotland, Vance, Warren, and Wake. We can only consider third party events or initiatives which will raise money in one or more of these counties.
