Our promise
To save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.
What we do?
We offer support and hope to everyone touched by breast cancer.
Since 1997, the North Carolina Triangle to the Coast Affiliate has invested more than $13 million in the region’s very best healthcare programs and nonprofits to provide breast health and breast cancer services to the medically underserved in our service area and has raised $4 million for breast cancer research. These programs help ensure that women in North Carolina are getting the education, screenings, treatment assistance, post-diagnosis support, and survivor support they need.
In addition to offering grants to local non-profits and health care organizations, we offer opportunities for program development and capacity building so that, together, we can realize our vision of a world without breast cancer.
Community Focused
Seventy-five percent of net funds raised, through events like the Race for the Cure, individual donations, and corporate philanthropy are invested in our service area to help the people of North Carolina.
Since 1997, the NC Triangle to the Coast Affiliate has funded more than 250 community-based programs that have made a difference in the lives of uninsured and underserved women and men in our service area:
Grantees
In this current funding cycle, April 1, 2012 - March 31, 2013, Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast Affiliate is funding 19 projects, totaling $1.1 million, funding everything from mammograms to mastectomies, patient navigation and outreach, to financial assistance through qualified grantees.
Programs have been selected by our independent Grant Review Panel as those that will have the greatest impact in serving uninsured or underinsured women in our service area. Please note that Susan G. Komen for the Cure is not a direct service provider.
