2008 Komen NC Triangle I WILL Walk for the Cure

Incarcerated Women Interested in Learning and Living (I WILL) is an education and outreach initiative of the Komen NC Triangle Affiliate, organized to educate and inform incarcerated women housed in the North Carolina Department of Corrections (NCDOC) about breast cancer and breast health. Volunteer visits to Raleigh Correctional Institutions include instruction to both inmates and guards about breast health and self-breast exams. More than a year of training sessions, including pre-training and post-training evaluation, makes clear that incarcerated women, particularly those younger than 50 years old, can be well-educated and proactive.

On Saturday, October 25, the I WILL ambassadors will host the 3rd Annual I WILL Walk for the Cure, a 1 mile walk at the NCCIW prison facility to raise awareness within the prison population and to raise funds in support of the Komen NC Triangle Affiliate. Thank you for your support of this unique initiative!
