The Race for the Cure celebrates survivorship; honors those who have lost their battle, and most importantly, raise funds and awareness for the fight against this life threatening disease.

Race Basics

The 2012 Komen NC Triangle Race for the Cure® will be held Saturday, June 9 at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, even in the event of inclement weather. The Race is a 5k (3.1 miles), we also offer a 1 mile walk.

Important Dates/Deadlines

April 1st (11:59 p.m.) - Early Bird registration ends

Early April - Volunteer Registration Opens

May 15th (11:59 p.m.) - Last day to register and have your t-shirt/bib mailed

May 22nd (11:59 p.m.)  - Qualify for Team Town

May 22nd (11:59 p.m.)  – Team Registration Closes

June 1st - Team Box Pickup – location TBD

June 2nd - Team Box Pickup – location TBD

June 4th – Individual Packet Pickup and Registration – 6-8:30 pm – Location TBD

June 5th – Individual Packet Pickup and Registration – 6-8:30 pm – Location TBD

June 6th – Individual Packet Pickup and Registration – 6-8:30 pm – Location TBD

T-Shirt Pick-up

June 4-7 | Individual Packet Pickup – 6-8:30 pm – Locations TBD

Friday, June 8 | Meredith College, Raleigh, NC: Pick up participant and Survivor t-shirts. Merchandise for sale. Pledges accepted.

T-shirt pickup is available on Race Day.

Fundraising Drop-off

Cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard accepted. Donations can also be made online, mailed to 133 Fayetteville St., Suite 300 Raleigh, NC 27601 (please include a Fundraising Form), or dropped off on Race day at the pledges tent.

Race Day Schedule

5:30 a.m. – Shuttle buses begin at the RBC Center (all parking is at the RBC Center)

6:00 a.m. – Registration/Packet Pickup Opens

6:45 a.m. – Survivor Breakfast Begins

7:00 a.m. – Competitive Open 5K (co-ed)

7:15 a.m. – Survivor Photo

7:45 a.m. – Women's Only - Jeanne's Race 5K Run/Walk

8:45 a.m. – Recreational Open 5K Run/Walk (co-ed)

9:30 a.m. – One-Mile Fun Run/Walk (co-ed)

10:00 a.m. – Kids Dash (ages 3-5)

10:30 a.m. – Survivor Tribute

Costumes and Banners Encouraged!

Participants are encouraged to wear a creative costume on Race day! Put your team name on a banner to have it announced as you cross the finish line.

Route Safety

Rain or shine - please dress accordingly. Due to insurance restrictions pets, bicycles, skates, skateboards and scooters are not allowed on the Race course. We encourage participants with strollers or joggers to start at the end of the running events
