You will be able to customize images, text and the style/color layout of the page.
Q: By default I have a personal page, do I have to change it?
A: Once you sign up for the Race online, by default, you will have a personal page created for you. A compelling personal page attracts and engages supporters. Customize your page by selecting the layout and style that work best for you. Utilize the elements of text, photo and status indicators to their fullest advantage.
Q: What is the difference between making my personal page private or public?
A: By default, a personal page is Public, meaning your name will appear in the participant search list, and anyone accessing the site will be able to support you. FUNDRAISING INFORMATION
Q: Do I have to collect donations to participate in the Race?
A: No, it is not required. However, participant fundraising is critical to the success of the Race and the programs funded by Komen NC Triangle.
Q: Where does my money go?
A: We maintain the philosophy of “what is raised here stays here” with 75 percent of net proceeds being used for local programs, and 25 percent used to fund breast cancer research nationally. The Komen NC Triangle Affiliate serves 20 counties in North Carolina. Counties include Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Nash, Northampton, Moore, Orange, Person, Pit, Scotland, Vance, and Wake. Many of the counties outside of our service area share health services and resources with our current affiliate counties. This means that NC Triangle funds impact communities that span beyond our designated service area.
Q: How do I enter my offline donations in my Participant Center?
A: When you receive a cash or check donation, you can enter it in your Participant Center so that your fundraising thermometer changes. Log into your Participant Center, click on "My Progress" on the right and find the link "Enter Gifts Received Offline." Click that link and then enter each offline gift received. Mail your offline donations to the following address or drop them off at the Donations tent during Race weekend. Be sure to mark your donations so they get credited correctly.
