Q: How do I join or form a team?
A: If you haven't registered for the Race yet, you can click here to register online and select "Start a Team" or "Join a Team." Search for the name of the team you want to join and select it. If you are already registered for the Race and want to form or join a team email registration@komennctriangle.org or call or call 1-877-506-7501. 

Q: One of my team members registered as an individual when they meant to join my team. How do they correct this?
A: In order to change their registration from individual to team member, please send an email to registration@komennctriangle.org with the individual's name and the team name they'd like to be added to.

Q: What is the deadline to form a team?
A: You will no longer be able to form a team after midnight, May 22, 2012.

Q: What is the deadline for people to join my team?
A: Team Registration to be included in the Team Box is Midnight, Tuesday, May 22, 2012. People can still join your team after this date, but they will not be included in your box and will have to pick their t-shirt and bib up at one of the individual Packet Pickup locations the week before the Race.

Q: When and where can I pick up my Team Box?
A: You can pick up your team box on either Friday, June 1 or Saturday, June 2. We will announce the exact location and times closer to the date.

Q: What is a Team Page?
A: Your Team page is a Web page that people can visit to find a team member or give a donation that supports the fundraising efforts of the entire team. Although the default Team page contains sample text and photos, your Team Captain can customize this page to make it a creative expression of the Team commitment to Komen and our fight against breast cancer.

Q: What is the minimum team size?
A: Teams must have at least ten (10) team members to be considered a team. There is no maximum for number of people on a team.

Q: What is the best way for team members to register?
A: ONLINE! It is easier for you, your team members, and us. Online registration also allows each team member to establish a personalized online fundraising page, set a goal and start fundraising early. Click here to start the online registration process.

Q: Can my team put up a tent on Race Day?
A: NO. We have more than 900 teams who register for the Race. We simply do not have the space to allow our teams to put up a tent.

Q: Can my team have a banner at the Race?
A: Your team can have a banner that they carry, but teams are not allowed to post a banner or sign in the ground on campus.

Q: Do all team members have to participate in the same event?
A: No, Team members can choose any event they wish. Often, competitive runners join their other team members for the 5K Walk after they have run, and others “Sleep-In for the Cure.”

Q: What is the Fundraising Only participation type?
A: This participation type was set up for those people who can't attend the Race, but want to use the online tools we have to fundraise. You do not receive a t-shirt or bib and will not be attending the event.

Q: My company would like to pay for the whole team, can we do this?
A: Yes, we do offer the ability for companies to sponsor their team members contact admin@komennctriangle.org for details. After filling out the appropriate paperwork, you will receive a discount code. Your team members will then use this discount code when they are registering online and will bypass the payment section of registration.

Q: Does it matter who gets which Race bib?
A: Yes, every participant, including children, gets a bib with a Race number.  Bibs show that you are registered to participate in the Race. In addition, bibs are color coded – for example, survivors get pink bibs.  Other categories include:  Sleep-ins, competitive runners, and recreational participants.

Q: Can you guarantee my team shirt sizes?
A: We do our best to order sufficient t-shirts in a variety of sizes. Despite our best efforts, sometimes we do run out of sizes and, unfortunately, shirts. This is yet another reason why we:
1. Encourage online and early registration
2. Encourage each and every Team Captain to come to Team Box Pick-up.

Q: What if I have difficulty using the online system?
A: Each year we work to improve our online registration system. If you have questions please contact your Team Coach or the Team Chairs at teams@komennctriangle.org

Q: OK, we’ve registered for the Race, set up our team, and started our fundraising - what other ways can our team support the Komen NC Triangle Race for the Cure?
A: Volunteer! Volunteer to help us prior to Race Day and at other Race events.
