To host a fundraising event that will benefit the Komen NC Triangle Affiliate, we ask that you review the attached guidelines and complete a short application form. This process is designed to give you appropriate permissions for using our name and, if appropriate, our logo. It is also designed to offer you the maximum support we can give.

Application Procedures

Application Deadline: The Komen NC Triangle Affiliate requests that applications be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event, benefit or promotion. There is some flexibility depending on an organizer’s requirements and timeline.

Minimum Contribution: The Komen NC Triangle Affiliate requires a minimum contribution of $100 for all third-party events, benefits or promotions. Options for smaller events can be discussed with Affiliate staff.

Application Review: Once the application is received, we make every effort to provide a response within one week.

Early Promotion: Organizers of third-party events may NOT use the Komen name or logo without a signed letter of agreement and without pre-approval of the promotional piece. If your timeline requires early promotion, Affiliate staff can offer alternative wording.

Expense Ratio: As a responsible steward of public funds, Komen for the Cure believes that a reasonable percentage of the gross revenues from all fundraising activities should be directed to our mission. A third-party event, promotion or benefit is required to keep expenses under 25% of gross revenue.

Disclosure: The public must be informed about the specific dollar amount or percentage that will benefit the Komen NC Triangle Affiliate.

Use of Name/Logo: A third-party must request written permission to use Komen’s name and/or logo, and completion of the Third-party Event Application will constitute as such a request. All promotional material related to an event benefiting the Komen NC Triangle Affiliate must be reviewed and approved by the Affiliate prior to its production and distribution.

Your support is incredibly valuable to the Komen NC Triangle Affiliate. These guidelines are designed to ensure an excellent experience for you. If you choose to organize one of the National Events that are outlined elsewhere in this section, you are not required to submit an application to our Affiliate. Please feel free to contact the office if you have questions.

Administration & Volunteers: The Komen NC Triangle Affiliate is not able to handle any administrative aspects of a third-party activity. Likewise, recruitment and training of volunteers are the responsibility of the organizer.

Publicity: Organizers of the third-party fundraiser should be prepared to initiate publicity for this promotion and commit the necessary funds from its advertising budget.

Materials and Affiliate Presence: The NC Triangle Affiliate will be pleased to provide breast health materials in numbers that are appropriately in proportion to the expected number of participants. Additionally, upon request and based upon availability, the Affiliate can set up and staff an information table or small booth.

Event Listing on this Website: As a benefit of entering into a third-party relationship with the NC Triangle Affiliate, all events/fundraisers will be included on this website. Content is provided by the organizers but is posted at the discretion of the NC Triangle Affiliate.
