Ongoing Volunteer Positions

If you are interested in a volunteer position that is ongoing, the first step is to let us know that you are interested and to sign up for one of our Volunteer Orientation Sessions. While we continue to develop an online form for this purpose, we ask that you e-mail us at admin@komennctriangle.org. Please provide your name, e-mail address, mailing address and phone number. Please also sign up for one of our orientation dates, listed below.

Volunteer Orientation

If you are interested in a more ongoing commitment, perhaps as a member of one of our dozens of committees and teams, the first step is to attend a Volunteer Orientation session. This orientation is required before you are given an assignment. Training includes basics about the organization, breast health, expectations for volunteers and opportunities to get involved.

All orientation sessions take place at 6:00pm in the Affiliate Office and require a reservation in advance. To sign up, please call the office at 919-493-2873 or email admin@komennctriangle.org. Click Here for directions and contact information. Upcoming orientation dates are: February 6, March 5 and April 17.

Committee Assignment

At the end of training, new volunteers must complete a volunteer waiver and application form. The form offers a list of volunteer opportunities that are available. The next step is invitation to a committee meeting. We hope that this will happen within a month of your training, but depending on the time of year, it may be a couple of months before your chosen committee is “active” and contacts you. Ongoing Support

Naturally, volunteers are welcome to try a variety of committees, projects or teams as you get to know the organization better. Additionally, for individuals who have made an ongoing commitment to the organization, there are opportunities for additional training at both the local and national levels.
